Divorce Mediation
Separation and divorce is hard on the entire family, and emotional and financial stress dominates most discussions. Mediation works beautifully for couples who are able to cooperate with each another in the best interest of their children and families. We don’t want you to think of your family as “broken,” rather, “redefined.” People who choose mediation are able to resolve their differences quickly, mediation costs the couple less money than paying for lawyers and going to court, and the agreements they make generally last.
Milestone Mediation will help parents create a tailor-made parenting plan that fits their “redefined family.” You can also schedule follow-up mediations every few years to adapt to your growing children as their needs change, as well as set up Co-Parent Coaching sessions to help the “parents-living-apart” get started right. Milestone Mediation will help divorcing couples divide property, settle custody issues (even if it is for the dog), and settle any other contested issues much cheaper than if attorneys battled it out in court.
How To Proceed
- Divorce Mediation is a specialty. In Utah, it is mandatory for couples in a contested divorce to attend at least one mediation with a mediator on the Utah Court Roster of Mediators before it goes to a judge. Read more, here. Kris has been on this roster for the past 5 years, and is qualified to mediate your divorce and all it’s issues – Parenting Plans are a specialty. Please read more about Kris, her background, goals, and philosophy about family issues.
- Mediation Orientation Classes for other types of mediation are available for senior centers, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and service clubs. Call 801-624-9555 to talk to Kris about dates and times available to your organization, or contact us via our website.
- To arrange for a mutually convenient appointment for a free 20 – 30 minute phone consultation to see if mediation is appropriate for your issue, call 801-624-9555 or contact us via our website.
- For information about scheduled WORKSHOPS on a variety of RELATIONSHIP SUBJECTS in your area, or if you would like to arrange one for a group of friends or community service group, call Kris at 801-624-9555 to discuss the subject you are interested in, and possible dates, venues, and cost. Keep in mind that you can host a class or workshop in your home for a small group to cut down cost – or even rotate homes for weekly classes in the workshop.
